Drying of "wet" seeded crops such as watermelon is critical step in seed production. These natural gas revolving seed driers work similar to your clothes drier at home and were designed specifically or drying "wet" seeded crops like watermelon. If seeds are dried to slowly they may germinate during processing. If they are dried too rapidly they may be damaged as well. Oily seeds such as watermelon should never be dried at temperatures exceeding 35 degrees C and should be stored at a moisture content of less than 9% on a dry weight basis.
